Status Quo announced that this year would see their last full-on electric shows. Their “The Last Night Of The Electrics” tour has kicked off with a high profile stint across Europe, visiting the UK for a spectacular send-off in December 2016. After this tour the Telecasters shall finally be unplugged and amps turned off.

Francis Rossi said,
“We’ve talked about it for some time and have decided that it’s time for us to hang up the electrics. It’s getting harder and harder for us to play those shows. It’s 30 years since we last said we were stopping but this is a final decision. It doesn’t mean we won’t do other things, perhaps the odd special, but we’re agreed that the moment has come. There’s more to come from us in the years ahead, but we won’t tour the electric set ever again”.

Simply Red Celebrate 25th Anniversary of ‘Stars’ – 10 Date November UK Tour

Simply Red take their classic album ‘Stars’ on the road this November in what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the year. The first half of this special show will feature hits and classic Simply Red songs, while the second half of the show will feature the entire ‘Stars’ album in its original running order. ‘Stars’ was released on September 30th, 1991 and was the bestselling UK album for two consecutive years, 1991 and 1992, a feat that hasn’t been repeated since.

It was their 4th album and the first to feature a collection of songs written entirely by Mick Hucknall for which he received an Ivor Novello award for Best Songwriter of the Year in 1991 in addition to a Brit Award for Best British Band that same year.

Paul Simon will touring the UK in November, his first UK shows since Hyde Park in 2012. Kinking off at the Bournemouth BIC on November 3rd, Simon will perform two nights at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall as well as shows at Cardiff Arena and Manchester Apollo, finishing at Nottingham Arena on November 12th. – Paul Simon Tour Dates also include Europe as well including Prague, Germany, Scandinavia, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Zurich, Spain and Dublin will be a very special evening.

The concerts will see Simon play a two-hour set featuring classic songs spanning his illustrious career, as well as a selection of tracks from his eagerly anticipated forthcoming album Stranger to Stranger (out in the UK June 3rd on Virgin EMI).

The anticipated concert dates for The Who 29th August to 7th September have now been rescheduled to April 2017. The band have announced that the five UK dates scheduled for August /September 2016, originally billed as ‘Greatest Hits’ shows, will be moved to 2017 to coincide with The Who to premiere a new acoustic presentation of ‘Tommy’ at London Royal Albert Hall 30 March / 1 April 2017.
the-who-newsletter For the rescheduled Greatest Hits shows Roger and Pete will play the hits as well as some lesser known Who songs and also include a new focused presentation of Tommy drawn from the Royal Albert Hall concerts including a brand new video programme specially produced for these shows. This UK set will emulate the historic period around Live At Leeds and Woodstock when the central pivot of The Who’s show was always their performance of Tommy. For Who fans new and old this is something special that hasn’t been done by the band or seen by their audience since 1970.
